Disabling the Device Group MechanismLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

The device group mechanism is used to assign a desktop according to the associated device group in a rule collection at runtime. By default, the device group mechanism is enabled. If you do not want to use the device group mechanism, you must disable it as described below.

Procedure

  1. Open SAP NetWeaver Administrator and access the Application Modules screen in one of the following ways:

    • Access SAP NetWeaver Administrator by adding /nwa to the AS Java URL (hostname:port/nwa) and then go to Start of the navigation path Configuration Next navigation step Infrastructure End of the navigation path and choose the Application Modules link.

    • Add the quick link /app-modules to the SAP NetWeaver Administrator URL: (hostname:port/nwa/app-modules).

    The Application Modules: Overview window opens.

  2. In the Module List area, search for com.sap.portal.desktop.desktopservice.
  3. In the Web Module Details area, select desktopservice .
  4. In the Portal Service Details area, set the value of the UseDeviceGroups property to false .
