Concept

In the standard system, the configuration editors for Floorplan Manager can only be launched from the application in administrator mode for the Web Dynpro Customizing layer. To make this option available in the Web Dynpro development layer, you can use expert mode.

As opposed to calling up a Web Dynpro application in the standard system, an additional URL parameter is delivered when calling up the Floorplan Manager application. This function can be activated for each user by adding the FPM_CONFIG_EXPERT parameter to the user data and attributing the value X to the user data.

Caution

Expert mode only gives you the option of configuring an application directly from the application, without having to call up the Web Dynpro Explorer. However, you still be in the developing environment, meaning that all changes to an explicit configuration are considered modifications.

Activities

To activate expert mode, proceed as follows:

  1. On the SP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path System Next navigation step  User Profile Next navigation step Own Data. End of the navigation path

  2. On the Maintain User Profile screen, select the Parameters tab.

  3. Enter FPM_CONFIG_EXPERT for the parameter ID and X for the parameter value.

  4. Choose Save .

Result

Expert mode is activated, meaning that when you call up a Floorplan Manager application, the Change Configuration link is shown in the identification region.
