Define summarization hierarchy

In this step, you create hierarchy IDs that determine the structure of the summarization hierarchy.

Via a project summarization, you summarize, for example, the costs incurred for the projects in a certain period.

Note

The individual levels of the hierarchy are set up via characteristics . Here, you must note that the first level of the hierarchy is always the controlling area. Below it, you can define hierarchy levels according to your requirements.

• If costs have already been summarized using a hierarchy ID, this hierarchy must not be changed .

Requirements

• You have created a controlling area.

• You have already generated the summarization characteristics.

Standard settings

The SAP System as delivered includes some ready-defined hierarchy IDs, which you can use without having to maintain them further.
