Define user-defined characteristics

In this step, you create characteristics you can use in addition to the reference characteristics to set up a hierarchy structure.

After you defined a free characteristic, you must allocate it to the class "SAP_KKR_CLASS" (class type 014). In master data maintenance, you can then value the characteristic for the project.

So that characteristics can be used for setting up a hierarchy structure, they must meet the following requirements.

• The characteristic must have CHAR format or NUM format

• Numeric characteristics (NUM format) must not have places behind the decimal point and must not have a +/- sign

• The characteristic must not have multiple values

• The criteria must not be multilingual
