Edit Network
Matchcodes
In this step you can maintain or define new
matchcodes for networks.
Before you edit matchcodes, read the following
sections for more detailed information.
This section
describes how matchcodes are structured in the SAP System.
This section
describes how to create a matchcode in the ABAP/4 Dictionary.
This section
describes how to work with the matchcode utility. You use it to set up data
for matchcodes that already exist in the system.
Further
Notes
The maintenance of matchcodes requires
technical knowledge of the ABAP/4-Dictionary. Leave the maintenance of
matchcodes to your system administrator.
Note that a large number of matchcodes can
negatively affect system performance. Check which matchcodes you want to use
for your area(s). You can deactivate matchcodes you do not want to
use.
Matchcodes are valid in every
client.
Standard
Settings
SAP has defined the following matchcodes for
networks:
- Matchcode with identification (ID) "A" allows
you to search for networks by standard networks.
- Matchcode with ID "B" allows you to search for
networks by number and short text.
- Matchcode with ID "C" allows you to search for
networks for a project definition.
- Matchcode with ID "D" allows you to search for
networks for a sales order.
- Matchcode with ID "E" allows you to search for
networks for an MRP controller.
- Matchcode with ID "F" allows you to search for
networks for a WBS element.
Activities
1. Check
whether the predefined SAP matchcodes meet your requirements.
2. If
necessary, add more matchcode IDs to existing matchcode objects or create new
matchcodes.
