Should you need to use language-dependent SAP-EIS objects which you havedefined or generated in another langauage, they need to be translated into that language. Using the translation function described here, you can translate such objects.
All SAP-EIS objects delivered with the system are translated by SAP and cannot be translated with this tool.
On the initial screen, enter the following information:
Choose 'Execute' to search for all texts which are relevant for translation. Depending on which objects you choose to search through, the system searches for texts which have been assigned to these objects. This means that it can search for the aspect texts belonging to an aspect or also for the key figure, characteristic and characteristic value texts, for example.
The search may take a certain amount of time as it may be searching through many SAP-EIS objects looking for relevant texts.
On the following screen, the system displays a list of the object classes found. They are classified as follows:
In addition, the translated object classes are highlighted.
On this screen, you select the object classes you wish to process and then choose List of objects to display the individual objects.
The object list displays all the objects in the previously selected object classes. The three columns displayed have the following meaning:
The target line is empty for untranslated objects. Translated objects are highlighted.
Select the objects you wish to process. If you select the translated objects, you can change the target text.
Choose the type of translation you require:
Only customer defined or generated, EIS-specific objects are offered for translation. If texts, which are normally translated by SAP, are missing in the target language, they can only be tranlsated by the carrying out of the corresponding language in the system or the use of the SAP translation tool: Tools -> ABAP/4 Workbench -> Environment -> Translation -> Short texts.
