Additional Process Information
Mass Changes
Just as with manual changes, the system documents the changes to the master data records using change documents. You can use the number of the worklist as a selection criterion to start the standard report to display the changes to the master data. This report displays all of the changes resulting from the mass change, and the person responsible.
To call up the report, choose Info System ® Reports on Asset Accounting ® Preparations for Closing ® International ® Changes to Asset Master Records.
Workflow Technique
You can also process mass changes to asset master data using the R/3 workflow technique. This enables you, for example, to implement a dual control.
The workflow is active if you have assigned a processor to the standard activity Correct Worklist. We have not assigned a processor in IDES Customizing as we do not use the workflow technique.
You make the relevant setting in Customizing for Asset Accounting. You should choose the following menu path:
Mass Retirements
If an enterprise sells off large portions of its fixed assets (such as a plant or a building) it is necessary to retire the corresponding individual assets. If the number of assets affected is high, it is advisable to execute this business transaction in Asset Accounting using a mass posting transaction.
Revenue Distribution
The revenue received for the assets you have sold should be distributed to the assets as follows:
Manual Revenue Distribution
If you are using worklists with individual revenue distribution, you can specify the revenue for each asset in the list display when you process the worklist (Change Revenue Distribution). In this case, you do not require enhancement project WFOB0001. The system initially determines a value of zero for each asset. You can then change the value manually.
Workflow Technique
Just as with mass changes to asset master data, you can also use the R/3 workflow technique to execute mass retirements. This enables you, for example, to implement a dual control.
The workflow scenario for mass retirements is active as soon as you have assigned an agent to the standard IMG activity Correct Worklist (FI-AA Customizing, under Preparing for Production Startup Authorization Management. Note, however, that if you do not want to use workflow control and would prefer to use the procedure as defined for this IDES process, you must ensure that no agent has been assigned to this IMG activity.
