Settling the Product Cost Collector
Use
In this process, you offset the cost collector against the inventory. That means that the WIP and variances (including overheads) are posted to financial accounting. This data is then reflected in your profit and loss statement so that you have a true picture of the cost of your product. The production cost, calculated when you backflushed the goods, are reduced by the WIP and scrap, whereas the variances are added to these costs.
