Definition
This key determines how each system message is
processed by the system.
Use
For a number of situations in shipping the
message type can be rerouted within certain defined limits. Using these you
can influence:
1. whether a message should appear in collective processing or
in an interactive log
2. whether a message should appear at
all
3. how the system responds to a situation: normally message
type 'E' does not allow any further processing. You cannot create or change
items.
You can use the following categories to control
the message type in certain situations during shipping processing:
Message type ' ':
Message type I:
- can appear in the collective processing log if
this has been defined in Customizing activity Copy messages with type 'I' into
collective processing log.
- appears in a dialog box as an information
message.
Message type W:
- does not appear in the log
- appears in a dialog box as a
warning.
Message type E:
- appears in the log and the system prevents
further processing.
- appears in a dialog box as an
error.
