Define life
cycle profile
In this work step, you define the life cycle
phases as well as the life cycle profile for your company.
1. In the first
sub-step, you define the life cycle phases that, from the point of view of
your company, are important for specific products or projects.
For each life cycle
phase, you determine
- Which object type the system recommends as
standard when creating a configuration folder for thecontrolled object (
default object).
- Which BOM usages are allowed in the respective
life cycle phases (selected usages).
1. In the
second sub-step, you define the life cycle profile for your products or
projects.
In a life cycle
profile, you determine
- Which life cycle phases are allowed within
configuration definitions that you create with this profile
- In which life cycle phase the system creates
the first configuration folder when you create a configuration
definition
- Which transitions are allowed between life
cycle phases when you create a successor for a configuration
folder
For various
products, you may need different life cycle profiles.
