In this step, you convert classification characteristics into summarization characteristics for summarizing using master data characteristics. The conversion takes place in a specified client.
From Release 4.5A, the new summarization, using master data characteristics, is available. Summarization using classification remains available only for reasons of compatibility; support for it will be withdrawn medium-term. We recommend that you activate projects for summarization using master data characteristics, even if they have already been summarized using classification. To this end, you must convert the user-defined classification characteristics into the additional fields required by the new summarization. Doing this activates the projects for the summarization using master data characteristics.
For each characteristic from classification, you must define the appropriate additional values per the naming convention, using the customer enhancement for project summarization. The naming convention states that "ZZ" or "XX" must be entered in front of the technical name of the characteristic for conversion purposes.

Convert the classification characteristics for one or more projects.
After the conversion, the classification characteristics are no longer available. If you have defined the search help using classification characteristics, you must define it again.
