Copy Control For Conditions

In this step, you define rules for copying condition records.

The copy function allows you to copy the data in an existing condition record to a large number of new condition records to reduce the time required for maintenance.

The existing condition record contains a condition type and a condition table which are referred to as the source condition type and source condition table in the copying rule. In the copying rules, you make the possible assignments of source condition tables and source condition types to target condition tables and target condition types.

Actions

1. You should first check whether the copying rules in the standard SAP R/3 System suit your requirements.
2. If you want to define new rules, the following requirements apply:
3. You define a new copying rule by assigning the allowed source condition tables and target condition tables to each other.
In this way, you can assign several target condition tables to one source condition table. You characterize one of them as an automatic default. You also decide whether the validity date of the source record is defaulted in the target records. Furthermore, you assign an appropriate selection report which allows you to create a large number of condition records according to certain selection criteria.
4. Define the allowed source condition types and target condition types. The system uses this allocation to check whether you are allowed to copy the selected condition types.

Note

You can also define your own selection reports, for example, to use your own selection parameters. In this case, you can use the standard report RV15CC01 for copying. In this report, you also find notes on creating a new report. The name of your report should start with the letter "Z".
