Define Rounding Rules

In this activity, you define rounding rules for scale basis and condition basis.

Example

You have created the following weight scale:

up to 100 tons - USD 4 for each 10 tons

up to 500 tons - USD 3.75

up to 1000 tons - USD 3.25

up to 1500 tons - USD 3

up to 2000 tons - USD 2.75

A shipment cost item weighs 1538 tons. Use the rounding rule "round down to 100" as the scale basis and "round down to 10" as the condition basis. In order to determine the correct scale level, the system uses a value of 1500 tons, making the charge USD 3 per 10 tons. However, the system rounds to 1530 tons to determine the condition basis. USD 3 per 10 tons is then multiplied by 153 to determine the total charge.

5. Save your entries.

Further Notes

You can assign the rounding rules defined here to shipment costs master data as you create scales. The rounding rule for determining the scale basis is assigned to the tab page Scales and the rounding rule for determining the condition basis is assigned to the tab page Calculation .
