Define Costing
Types
You can use
costing types to define the technical parameters for the unit
costing or product costing (including order costing).
You stipulate the following in the costing
type:
- The object to which the costing
refers
You can calculate
costings for the following at this time:
- The form in which costing results are updated
to the object
In the case of the
order costing, you stipulate whether the costing results are to be regarded as
plan or actual values.
For example: you can
use a costing type to calculate the plan costs for an order while using
another costing type to value material issues, confirmations etc. for the
order and thus determine its actual costs.
Standard
Settings
The SAP standard system contains calculation
types defined for all objects.
Actions
1. Specify an
alphanumeric key for the new costing type, along with an appropriate short
text.
The system rejects
numeric keys because these are reserved for SAP standard
settings.
2. Define how
the costing results are to be recorded in the reference object.
