Creating an Information Structure for the ArchiveLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can create and configure information structures that allow you to execute searches in the Read Access Logging archives. SAP delivers the SAP_SRAL information structure for the Read Access Logging archive. This contains the following four fields according to which you can index log entries:

  • Created At

  • Logging Purpose ID

  • User Name

  • Software Component

This is the software component in which the object that was logged is located.

Note The index takes up a lot of space in the database. You should consider this when using the information structure. If you need a fast search in the archive only once, consider activating an information structure temporarily, indexing the data once and then deactivating the information structure again once the search is complete.

You can use the information structure delivered by SAP or create your own. If you use the SAP_SRAL information structure, you must activate it. If you create your own, you must assign it to the SRAL archiving object. For more information, see Archive Retrieval Configurator.

When you activate an information structure, the Read Access Archive is indexed and you can search for log entries according to this index. For more information, see Monitoring the Read Access Log.
