Function documentationShipment Split in the VMI Scenario

This function performs a division of TLB shipments in SAP Advance Planning and Optimization (APO) in the case of multiple purchasing groups or a parallel consigned and non-consigned scenario in the VMI scenario.

Prerequisites

  • You have defined VMI purchasing groups on the SAP Easy Access screen under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Product Next navigation step Product End of the navigation path.

  • You have specified the form of procurement on the SAP Easy Access screen under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Transportation Lane Next navigation step Transportation Lane End of the navigation path by selecting the Consignment radio button for the relevant products.

  • You have defined both a sales document type and a consignment sales document type in Customizing to enable a parallel processing of consigned and non-consigned items after the shipment split. For more information, see Customizing for SAP ERP under Start of the navigation path Integration with Other mySAP.com Components Next navigation step Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Application-Specific Settings and Enhancements Next navigation step Settings and Enhancements for Sales Orders Next navigation step Settings for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Next navigation step Define Customer/Plant Assignment and Configure ATP Check End of the navigation path.

Features

  • The system executes the shipment split during the TLB run, before it publishes the data to SAP ERP. It first checks whether multiple purchasing groups exist, secondly whether Consignment has been selected for any of the products in the transportation lane master data, and then performs a grouping of shipments accordingly.

  • A Consignment indicator is displayed for the relevant shipments on the Transport Load Builder user interface.
