3.4.2 Configuring Search ProvidersLocate this document in the navigation structure


By default, NWBC loads a list of search providers, if configured, from the server. . For more information, see 5.9 Menu . However, you can also configure additional search providers locally that can then be used in exactly the same way as the other integrated search providers (for example, the desktop search). For each search provider, you can define only the startup URL that is to be called with the query string. This search provider is then started in a new window.

The following figure shows an example of the Search Providers dialog box:

The name of the integrated search provider. This is the name that is displayed in the list of all search providers.


A shorthand symbol that can be selected as search location in the quick launch.


The URL that is used to start the query on the search provider. It must be the full URL as it would usually also be entered in a browser to start a query. Use the sequence {0} within the URL to mark the position where the search string should be placed.


In the menu, your search providers are integrated in the standard search menu. The following figure shows an example of the standard search menu:
