System Security for SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP Only

The following system security functions apply specifically to SAP NetWeaver (AS) Application Server ABAP:

• Trust Manager

  The trust manager is the tool to use when using public-key technology with the AS ABAP.

• Security Audit Log

  Use the security audit log to track security-related events on the AS ABAP. The system records events such as unsuccessful logon attempts, the starting of transactions or reports, or changes to user master records for your analysis.

• Secure Storage in the Database (AS ABAP)

  SAP applications use the secure storage to store the passwords used for connecting to other systems. The passwords are stored encrypted so that they cannot be accessed by unauthorized users.

• Secure Storage in the File System (AS ABAP)

  SAP Installer, AS ABAP kernel, and AS ABAP tools that connect to the database can use this storage to securely store connection-relevant data like passwords.
