Use

You can archive or delete XML messages that the Integration Engine has processed correctly.

Correctly processed XML messages are deleted by default. All XML messages that are not deleted once they have been processed correctly must therefore be archived.

To archive XML messages, you must first define their corresponding interfaces and then schedule the archiving jobs.

You must carry out multiple archiving jobs to archive an XML message:

To delete XML messages, perform the following two jobs:

You can reschedule all jobs periodically, but you must maintain the job sequence.

You can select and display archived XML messages.

Prerequisites

You have defined the interfaces for the XML messages to be archived using Configuration ® Define Interfaces for Archiving and Retention Periods in the Integration Engine menu.

To archive XML messages, use the archiving object BC_XMB and use SAP_BC_XMB as the archiving infostructure. The archiving infostructure must be activated.

Schedule archiving jobs

To schedule archiving jobs, proceed as follows:

  1. From the Integration Engine ® Administration menu, choose Schedule Archiving Jobs.
  2. The system displays the SAP Structure linkarchive administration screen that you can use to schedule your archiving jobs.

  3. In the field Object Name, enter the archiving object (BC_XMB) for the Integration Engine.
  4. Schedule your Structure linkpreparation, Structure linkwrite, and Structure linkdelete jobs by choosing the corresponding action.
  5. Choose Structure linkRead to start the read program for your archiving object to read already archived XML messages.
  6. You can either start the read program in the background or in the dialog. For the latter, choose Archived XML Messages (Search Using Archive) in the Integration Engine menu.

  7. To display an overview of archiving jobs that have already run for your archiving object, choose Structure linkAdministration
  8. To display statistics for the individual archiving jobs, choose Structure linkStatistics.

Caution

For performance reasons, the statistics values are generally imprecise.

Schedule deletion jobs

To schedule deletion jobs, proceed as follows:

  1. From the Integration Engine ® Administration menu, choose Schedule Delete Jobs.
  2. Select the corresponding check box of the job(s) to be scheduled.
  3. Specify the start time and date.
  4. Specify the interval you want to use and choose Schedule.

For an overview of all jobs, choose Jobs. For each preparation job there must be a deletion job.
