Function documentation Search Concepts Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to search for a concept in the concept pool.

The key benefit of this function is quick access to concepts that are interrelated based on submitter, type, or name. These concepts can then serve as inspiration/input for new concepts. You can also make sure that the same or similar concept does not already exist in the concept pool.

Prerequisites

If the search supports category searches as well as free text and attribute searches, the categories must be maintained on SAP xPD side.

If search attributes and categories for the search bar need to be changed you need to configure the search bar user interface.

Features

Searching

·        Quick search

This search is based on key attributes (for example, submission date, title, and author), and categories.

The searchable attributes and categories are defined at implementation time.

·        Free text search

This search is based on a text consisting of a combination of words or parts of words combined with wildcards.

You can use wildcards for "begins with" and "ends with" searches, but you need to specify the attribute or category you want to perform the search on. The search engine then tries to match the free text with the specified attribute or category for all stored concepts.

To get all concepts with similar titles, you can also search for similar text.

Viewing Results

The result of a search is displayed as a list or a table, displaying key attributes or categories such as title, owner, and status. The fields to be included in the result list or table are configured at implementation.

You can sort the result list/table by displayed attributes or categories.

You can open the concept editor by clicking on the title of any concept in the result list.
