Template Management 
This part of SAP Library gives you an overview of the changes and new features in SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP01 compared to SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 SP26.
This information is provided as release notes, which are structured by Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes. The following table gives you an overview of new, enhanced and deleted functions in the Template Management process.

You can select business functions for a project or solution, to optimize your business processes. Before you activate the business functions in the Switch Framework Cockpit, check the consistency of the scope of the selected business functions. |

Comparison and adjustment across the entire lifecycle |

The Compare and Adjust function has been enhanced to compare instances of structure nodes and their business content, in the lifecycle phases, between projects and solutions, in Application Management. You specify a comparison node, and choose a predecesor and subsequent version of it, to compare, and copy the assigned business content. While you compare with a direct predecessor version, you can also copy node attribute values (e.g. global attributes, TBOMs of transactions). When you adjust, you can navigate between comparison nodes, or go directly to the tab of a specified comparison node. |

You can capture solution packages centrally, independently of a template project, and assign them to templates. You can assign solution packages to a business process node in the Business Blueprint, via a template. |

You can put solution packages in a template, in a template project. You can process this templates further, and add preconfigured business content to it, in the SAP Best Practices Solution Builder. When you copy the business processes into the SAP Solution Manager, the configuration contents assigned to them is visible in the Configuration tab. |

You can base a configuration structure on the business function scope. You can display the test catalogs and test cases for business functions, in the managed system. You can also copy test cases directly into the SAP Solution Manager system for central storage, and convert them into a changeable document. |
