Business Process and Interface Monitoring
This Work Center is the central point for accessing all the necessary functions to monitor your business processes, as well as the interfaces between your business process steps.
On the one hand, it comprises of views in which you can display and edit business processes and alerts. On the other you can execute typical tasks that you use often in Business Process and Interface Monitoring.
You have the necessary authorizations for this Work Center. For more information, see Access Using the Work Center.
A list of solutions is available to you for which Business Process Monitoring is set up and active. The list shows the current alerts that occurred for Business Process Monitoring and System Monitoring, they are sorted by status. Date and time specify the last update. By clicking on an alert you can display the details for Business Process Monitoring alerts. The number after the alert specifies how many business processes have this alert.
When you highlight a solution, the system displays any details about this solution below the list.
Business Processes
Displays the corresponding business processes in a list with an evaluation and the scenario. The evaluation is dependent on the current alerts assigned to this business process.
Graphical Overview
Displays the corresponding business processes and scenarios as a graphic.
You can navigate as follows in both the list and the graphic:
If you click on a business process, you reach the Business Process view.
If you click on an alert, you reach the Alert Details view.
Details of a Selected Business Process of a Solution are available to you. To display the details, choose a solution and a business process. By default the list shows details of the solution and business process highlighted in the overview.
You following details are available:
Business Process Steps
Shows the business process steps of the selected business processes in a list with evaluation and logical component. The evaluation is dependent on the current alerts assigned to this step. If you click on an alert, you reach the Alert Details view.
Graphical Overview
Shows the assigned business process steps as a graphic in which the relationship between the steps is shown with an arrow. Depending on the Business Process Monitoring set-up, the graphic shows alerts relating to the interfaces next to the arrows. Synchronous interfaces are shown by dotted lines, asynchronous interfaces by sold lines.
If you click on an alert, you reach the Alert Details view. Alerts for logical components are not edited in this Work Center, but in the System Monitoring Work Center.
Messages
Shows a list of the messages created from the Business Process Monitoring session with further details in the message on, for example, priority, component, and status. If you click on the ID or description of a message, you are then taken to the message and can edit it.
Alert Details for the Business Processes of a Solution are available to you in a tree structure. To display the details, choose a solution and a business process or all business processes. By default the list shows all alert details for the solution highlighted in the overview as well as all the associated business processes.
To get an overview of the status of the business process, you can display the alert details according to different criteria:
Open Alerts
Displays at which point of the business process there are alerts that you have not yet analyzed and confirmed. Depending on the settings of how many alerts the system saves in the history, each alert can contain lower-level alerts.
To confirm alerts, highlight the alerts and click Confirm. The alerts disappear from the tree structure.
Current Alerts
Shows the alerts currently registered to each tree element.
This view shows the open alerts by default.
If you click on an alert message, you are taken directly to the corresponding alert in the Business Process Monitoring session.
A List of the Alerts for Business Process Steps of a Solution is available. To display alerts, choose a solution, a business process, or all business processes, as well as one business process step or all business process steps. By default the list shows all alert details for the solution highlighted in the overview as well as all the associated business processes and business process steps.
In contrast to the alert details in the tree structure, you can sort this list, for example, by evaluation, alert value, and date to get a precise overview of all business processes and business process steps.
You can display the alerts by different criteria:
Open Alerts
Displays the alerts that you have not yet analyzed and confirmed. To confirm alerts, highlight the alerts and click Confirm. The alerts disappear from the list. You can also select or deselect all alerts at the same time.
Current Alerts
Displays current alerts.
This view shows the open alerts by default.
Depending on the system settings, your authorizations, and the SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI) process chain that is running, you can display a dashboard from the SAP Solution Manager content. For further information, see BI Reporting.
You can execute the following functions from any view in the Work Center:
Calling the Solution Directory for a selected solution
Call the Business Process Monitoring setup for a selected solution to configure, for example, the alert settings (prerequisite that there are business processes in the solution)
