ProcedureImporting Jobs into Job Documentation

 

You want to create job documentation for one or multiple jobs in a system and copy the data for job scheduling and job steps automatically.

Prerequisites

  • You have made the necessary system settings for the Planning a Job scenario in Customizing of the SAP Solution Manager under   Configuration   Scenario-Specific Settings   Planning a Job  .

  • You have edited your system landscape and solution landscape. More information: Job Scheduling Management.

  • Your user is assigned the necessary authorization for executing the Job Scheduling management job.

  • For the BC-XBP interface you have set up an RFC connection between the SAP Solution Manager and the target system (transaction SMSY) and have assigned the user in the target system the necessary authorizations for the BC-XBP interface and job scheduling.

Procedure

The header of the configuration application displays the following information:

  • Job name

  • Job number

  • Which system and client the job is assigned to

  • Which logical component or which business process step the job is assigned to

To import a job, proceed as follows:

  • Choose Change, to go to change mode.

  • Choose Display, to go to display mode.

  • Choose Save to save your entries.

System selection

You have the following options for adding system for the the import:

  • Directly using a logical component

    1. Choose a logical component.

    2. Select one or more systems.

    3. Choose Next.

  • Indirectly using a business process step

    1. Choose a solution.

    2. Choose a scenario.

    3. Choose a process.

    4. Choose a step.

    5. Select one or more systems.

    6. Choose Next.

Scheduler selection

  1. Select the scheduler.

  2. Choose Next.

Job selection

You can search for and select the relevant jobs.

  1. Search for jobs in the target system.

  2. Select the relevant jobs.

  3. Choose Next.

Import

After you have created the job documentation and imported the jobs, you can check the job documentation:

  1. Select job documentation.

  2. Choose Display.
