FunctionSystem Monitoring

This Work Center is the central point of access to the functions required to monitor the status of your systems.

Prerequisites

You have the necessary authorizations for this Work Center. For more information, see Using the Work Center.

You have set-up system monitoring for your solutions. For further information, see Set-up System Monitoring.

Features

Overview
  • Overview of system availability as status icons, according to the active query

    Note Note

The following queries are specified by default:

    • All systems

    • ABAP systems

    • Java systems

    • ABAP and Java systems

    • Systems with unknown architecture

    You can Specify New Queries.

    End of the note.
  • System list

A list of your systems. The contents of the list depends on the active query and the list settings.

You can see and process CCMS alerts. For further information, see Alert Inbox.

Proactive Monitoring

You can check the status of your systems before alerts are created. You can use the following functions:

  • ABAP application server status, grouped by solutions

  • ABAP application server monitoring tools

  • Java application server monitoring tools

  • Main instance monitoring tools

Note Note

The client and RFC connection selection influences the selection of available tools. You can check whether there are RFC connections for your system and client, in the RFC Information hyperlink.

For further information about RFC connections in the system landscape, see Generate RFC Connections.

End of the note.
Connectivity Monitoring

You can monitor the RFC connections which you have set-up in the Setup view of this work center.

You can check the status of the RFC connections to the following destinations:

  • ABAP destinations

  • HTTP destinations in ABAP systems

  • TC/IP destinations

You go to the overview of configuration settings for the RFC destination (transaction SM59), via a hyperlink in the RFC destination name.

You can have the connection checked by a background job, or check it manually. Choose Check Now You can make connection monitoring settings in the Setup view of this work center.

Job Monitoring

You get a list of background jobs with detail information. If you select a background job, there is further information in the detail area.

Analyses

You can use the following analyses:
