FunctionChange Management

 

This Work Center is the central point for accessing all the necessary functions for optimally making changes in your systems.

On the one hand, it comprises of views in which you can display and edit change requests, change documents, HotNews, and product maintenance procedures, as well as use important functions for test management. On the other you can execute typical tasks that you use often in Change Management.

Prerequisites

  • Change Management is configured in your system.

  • You have the necessary authorizations for this Work Center. For more information, see Access Using the Work Center.

  • A business partner is assigned to your system user.

Features

Overview

A summary of important objects is provided in Change Management, it is sorted by the status and function assigned to your business partner:

  • Change requests assigned to your business partner

  • Change documents assigned to your business partner, sorted additionally by change procedure type, for example, urgent correction

  • Product maintenance procedures you have created or changed, or which your business partner is assigned to

Click the link to get a suitable view with a list where the objects are filtered correspondingly.

For example, as requester of your approved change requests, you reach the Change Requests view with a list of your already approved change requests.

Requests for Change

A list of change requests is provided which you can, for example, filter by status.

To display and edit a change request, click in the list on the ID or change request description. Aside from this you can create new change requests.

When you mark a change request in the list, the system displays any details about this change request below the list, for example, the long text.

Change Documents

A list of change documents is provided which you can, for example, filter by status.

To display and edit a change document, click in the list on the ID or change document description.

When you mark a change document in the list, the system displays any details about this change document below the list, for example, the long text.

HotNews

In an active solution you can access the existing HotNews directly.

Maintenance Optimizer

A list of product maintenance procedures is provided which you can, for example, filter by status.

To display and edit a product maintenance procedure, click in the list on the ID or procedure description. Aside from this, you can create new product maintenance procedures.

When you mark a procedure in the list, the system displays any details about this product maintenance procedure below the list, for example, the assigned systems and logical components.

Test Management

A service map provides functions that affect the entire test management and test execution:

  • Test Cases

    You can create test cases and assign test catalogs.

  • Test execution

    You can call your worklist in the test execution.

  • Test Plan Management

    You can call test plan management to create test plans and packages.

  • Central Test Workbench

    You can configure central settings of the test Workbench, for example, status values for executing tests.

Analyses

Cross-solution reporting with report variants is provided for analyzing the change requests and change documents. You can either upload the documents manually to Solution Reporting or schedule it as a background job. More information: Evaluation: Change Management.
