This Work Center is the central access point for all the necessary information and functions you need to set up the SAP Solution Manager.

On the one hand, it comprises of views in which you can set up and manage solutions, projects and systems, as well as execute user-specific functions. On the other you can execute typical tasks that you use often for Set Up.

You have the necessary authorizations for this Work Center. For more information, see Access Using the Work Center.

Features

Overview

The SAP Solution Manager Self Diagnosis is provided together with a summary of the results of the last run and the processing status. For more information, see SAP Solution Manager Self Diagnosis.

Solutions

A list of solutions is provided which you can, for example, filter by solution type. The system displays active solutions by default. You can process the lists in the following ways:

  • create a new solution

  • Copy all existing solutions as templates

  • Activate or deactivate a solution

  • Delete a solution

    This function is only available for inactive solutions.

To access a solution in the Solution Directory, in the list click on the name or ID of the solution.

To call a list of service connections for a selected solution for which you can create a system connection to SAP, click on   Goto   Service Connection  .

To copy solutions between different systems, that is to export and import, click on   Goto   Solution Transfer  .

A symbol in the list shows the status of the self diagnosis. If you click the symbol, you reach the SAP Solution Manager solution self diagnosis. The Send Data flag shows if the system sends this solution data automatically to SAP.

When you highlight a solution, the system displays any details about this solution below the list.

  • Assigned logical components and systems

  • Assigned solution settings

    You can specify which solution data the system is to send to SAP, for example, production data. The Send Data flag in the list shows if the system sends data. Aside from this you can goto the solution settings in the Solution Directory.

  • Set up for monitoring operational processing

    You can call the setup for Solution Monitoring services, for example, for SAP EarlyWatch Alert, service level reporting, and system monitoring.

Projects

A list of projects is available to you. You can process the lists in the following ways:

  • Creating a new project

  • Copying an existing project as a template

  • Goto project management of the selected project

When you mark a solution in the list, the system displays any details about this project below the list.

  • Assigned logical components and systems

  • Assigned solutions

In this view you can also execute Action Items:

  • Migrating projects, that is, exporting and importing

  • Comparing and adjusting projects

  • Calling the template collector

  • Resetting user settings

  • Updating the search index for documents

  • Changing the project template for different project types

Systems

A service map provides information and tools that you can use to set up the systems:

You can configure user-specific settings, for example, system user, business partner, and role.

Typical Tasks

You can execute the following functions from any view in the Work Center:

  • Processing RFC connections to SAP Support Portal with errors

  • Calling the implementation guide (IMG)
