Analyze Solution Manager System and/or Solution (Self-Diagnosis)
You analyze your Solution Manager system and/or a solution, with the Self-Diagnosis function, to identify and solve problems.
The self-diagnosis analyses run daily in the background by default. You can perform a new analysis at any time, e.g. to check whether the problems shown by alerts have been resolved.
You can display the self-diagnosis results in various levels of detail:
For the SAP Solution Manager (cross-solution), e.g. to identify Solution Manager system performance problems.
For the SAP Solution Manager aund a solution, e.g. to check that the master data of a solution is consistent.
You have created at least one solution.
Make the settings required in the transaction , to specify which alert types are to be analyzed in the self-diagnosis. To check Solution Manager functions, e.g. Configuration or Service Plan, with the self-diagnosis, choose their alert types in the Alert Types by Function tab.
Recommendation
To avoid self-diagnosis displaying alerts for functions or solutions which you do not use, deselect these alert types in the Alert Types by Function or Solution-Secific Alert Types tab.
Choose the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.
You go to the SAP Solution Manager: Active Solutions screen.
Proceed as follows as you require:
To perform self diagnosis for the SAP Solution Manager continue from step 3.
To perform self diagnosis for the SAP Solution Manager and a solution, choose the solution.
Choose .
You get an overview of all self diagnosis logs in the system and the restricted functions. The system displays the solution status in cross-solution self-diagnosis.
You can display long texts with information for solving the problems, for yellow and red alerts, below the Help column.
To perform self-diagnosis, choose Execute.
In cross-solution self-diagnosis, the system performs all cross-solution and solution-specific checks, according to your settings (see Prerequisites). In self-diagnosis for one solution, the system only performs the checks for this solution.
