Create/Change Logical
Components 
You use logical components:
· In the project for Business Blueprint, Configuration, Testing, Customizing Distribution
· During operation of your solution in Monitoring for systems and business processes
· In Change Request Management
· You have assigned the systems to products which you want to use in logical components.
· You have flagged at least one main instance per system as relevant. You can only then use this system in a logical component.
SAP delivers some predefined logical components. To create a new logical component:

1. Choose System Groups and Logical Components ® Logical Components ® <Product>, in the overview tree.
2. Choose Create New Logical Component from the context menu.
3. Enter the required data.
4. Choose a product.

You can create a new product in the screen Create Logical Components.
5. Choose a main instance.
6. Save the changes.

1. Specify the use of the logical component:
¡ To use a logical component in system groups, i.e. in solution landscapes for operations, or in projects, set the Active flag in the right hand window.
¡ Set the Inactive flag to hide the logical component system-wide from the new uses possible entries help, but retain existing uses of the logical component.
2. You can change the product version in the Current System Assignments tab.
3. Assign logical systems to the logical components for the various system roles, e.g. as development system, in the Current System Assignments tab.

In the Current System Assignments tab, you can:
· Consistency Check: System assignment consistency check
· If Change Request Management is configured: Transport Routes: Display the transport routes in which the systems are.
· Where-Used List: Display the system groups in which the logical component is already used, e.g. display the projects which use it.
You can go to the use from the list of uses, to delete it if required.
· System Roles: Change system roles or their sequence, type system roles for the Change Request Management, e.g. as Subsequent System in a transport route.
4. Save the changes.
· Logical components in projects:
Assign the logical components to a project, in the Project Administration ® System Landscape tab ® Systems subtab, to be able to navigate within a project in the component systems.
· Operational logical components:
To monitor systems and business processes, Assign the logical components to a solution.
