As well as the BEx Analyzer from SAP NetWeaver ’04 and earlier SAP BW releases, SAP delivers a new version of the Analyzer. The new BEx Analyzer will provide the following new features:

New Technical Features

·        Input and display of Unicode texts is supported

·        Support of visually-impaired or blind users has been improved

New Functional Features

·        Functions of BI-integrated planning can be called in the Analyzer.

·        Excel-based application designs are also available, for example to create planning applications.

·        The inclusion of Microsoft Excel formatting was also improved.

New Features in Operation

·        A new menu guide and a new context menu is available.

·        Drag&Drop functions are also supported.

·        Sorting with the push of a button is also available.

Effects on Existing Data

To continue to support the existing customer scenarios, the BEx Analyzer from SAP BW 3.x with the existing functionality will continue to be available.

An upgrade process will be provided that makes the relevant objects (workbooks) for the Analyzer from SAP NetWeaver ’04 or earlier SAP BW Releases available to the new version of the Analyzer.

Effects on Data Transfer

In the case of the BEx Analyzer, the objects (workbooks) are converted when the previous objects are opened with the BEx Analyzer from SAP NetWeaver 2004s. With the newly generated workbooks, any program changes that have been made could not be converted. Generally, a manual change needs to be made with the new BEx tools. Newly created workbooks can no longer be edited with the old BEx Analyzer.
