Cells Not Ready for Input in a Data Entry
Layout
Sometimes a cell in a data entry layout is not ready for input.
This can have the following causes:
· The relevant structure in the layout is in display mode.
· The cell contains a formula.
· The cell belongs to a cell representing a hierarchy node with a total value and is therefore not displayed.
· A predefined fixed structure contains multiple characteristic values (due to aggregation).
· A predefined fixed structure contains nodes, which are not ready for input (also due to aggregation).
· The cell reflects an invalid characteristic value.
· The breakdown check discovered an error. Some examples are:
¡ Item 1000 has no breakdown by characteristic value 2000.
¡ Item 1000 has a breakdown by characteristic value 2000, but the value of characteristic value 2000 is missing.
¡ Item 1000 has a breakdown by characteristic value 2000, but the default value 3000 of characteristic value 2000 is not permitted.
¡ The characteristic value is not contained in the maximum set.
· An item has a required breakdown, but the breakdown is missing in the data entry layout.
· The fixed values in the breakdown of an item do not appear in the data entry layout.
· The values are in conflict with the layout definition.
· The definitions of the predefined fixed structures are inconsistent.
· The cell belongs to a combination of consolidation units, but that combination is invalid.
· Several characteristics for the cell are not restricted to single values.
· Several characteristic values are in conflict with the parameters used in the task execution.
· A value cannot be entered because the current period is prior to the first period of data entry.
· The currency key does not exist.
· The row is a dummy row, which however can be copied.
To see what the cause is (or causes are), call up the context menu for the cell and choose Why is the cell not ready for input?
