Launching the SLM
The SLM is a Web application. You can access it from your Web browser.
·
You have checked whether the Max heap size (in MB) property on all server processes
is set to at least 512 using the Config Tool in the Message Server & Bootstrap ® Bootstrap Java
settings pane. For more information, see
Configuring Instance
Properties.
·
You
have checked whether two Web service destinations are set using the Visual
Administrator on the Server ® Services ® Destinations ® Runtime tab. For more information, see
Destination Service.
The Web service destination names are the following:
Ў sap.com/tc~slm~interfaces/com.sap.slm.interfaces.proxies.SDCProx
/BORM_SWDC_API_SLM_INST_GET_DLPortType
Ў sap.com/tc~slm~interfaces/com.sap.slm.interfaces.proxies.sp.
SPProxy/BORM_SWDC_API_SLM_SP_GET_DLPortType
The required parameters for both Web service destinations are the following:
Field |
Parameter |
Destination ® URL |
Custom |
Destination ® Name |
http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/swdc/slm/accessctrl.do |
Destination ® Authentication |
None |
To launch the SLM:
...
1. Enter the URL of the application using the following pattern:
http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc~slm~ui_slm/SLM
2. Enter User ID and Password, and choose Log on.
In this step, the SLM checks the Common Information Model (CIM Model) version and the Component Repository (CR) content import date defined in the SLD and compares them with the CIM Model version and CR content export date defined in the SLM. There are three possibilities:
¡ If the CIM Model version defined in the SLM is not up-to-date, you receive an error message. You cannot work in the SLM until you import the latest CIM Model version.
¡ Three months after CR content has been last imported, you receive a warning message. You can work in the SLM but we recommended that you import the latest CR content.
¡ Six months after CR content has been last imported, you receive an error message and you cannot work in the SLM until you import the latest CR content.
For more information about importing CIM Model versions and CR content, see Updating the Software Catalog.
