Manual Ordering of Objects 

For example, you want to display several chapters or sections of technical documentation in a particular order.
This function is only available if it is supported by the repository manager.

The command group for manual ordering has to be available in the iView. This setting is made in the configuration of the flexible user interface. In the standard delivery, this command group is available in iViews for administrators and content managers, but not for end-users.

The collection renderer in question must support manual sorting in the configuration of the flexible user interface.

You have to activate manual ordering for a folder before you can order its objects manually.
In the Details dialog box for a folder, choose Settings ® Manual Ordering and then choose the Activate Manual Ordering.
To place the objects of a folder in a particular order, you move the objects in question using a popup menu.
From the popup menu of an object, choose Ordering ® Top, Up, Down, or Bottom. The commands are displayed only if manual ordering is active for the folder in question.
When you open a folder, the system displays the objects in the order defined manually by default. If the configuration of the user interface supports it, every user can choose another sort order, such as by name or modification date.
In the standard delivery, you change sort order by clicking on the column headers or choosing View ® Sort By in the menu.
