Defining a Copy Method 

Use

You use this procedure to define a copy method.

You use the method to copy totals data, documents, and additional financial data, for all or individual consolidation units. You can assign the copy method:

To a copy task to periodically copy data within the same consolidation area

To a data collection method (which itself is assigned to a data collection task) to periodically copy data across consolidation areas

Procedure

      1.      Create a copy method (in the process view of the workbench under Consolidation Functions ® Data Collection ® Copy Method).

      2.      Enter a short name and a medium name for the method.

      3.      Specify the data type (for example, reported financial data or documents). If you want to use the copy method within a copy task for copying different data streams, choose All Data Types.

      1.      Specify update mode. For more information, see Control of Data Collection Using Update Mode.

      2.      Specify whether the system should consider the debit/credit sign attributes that are defined in Customizing for financial statement items and/or transaction types.

      3.      Specify the input type (cumulative or periodic).

      4.      If you want to use a BAdI implementation for data collection, specify the BAdI filter value. For more detailed information, see the system documentation of the BAdI UC_DATATRANSFER and the documentation of its methods.

Define how the fields are mapped. See the section Mapping.

Tab Page Source/Target Version

      1.      Specify the source version (this is the version from which the data is copied).

      2.      Specify the target version (this is the version to which the data is copied).

      3.      Specify the source group currency.

      4.      Specify the target group currency.

      5.      If you want to perform currency translation for the data being copied, specify a currency translation method.
