Defining Delivery Rules for
Offers
When you create an offer, you need to specify one or more delivery rules for it.
A delivery rule defines:
· The delivery method (push, or pull)
· The delivery schedule according to which content is delivered.
A pull delivery rule and a push delivery rule are defined as default rules for each offer you create.
Both delivery rules are scheduled continuously. Only one schedule parameter is specified in these delivery rules. The shortest interval between successive content updates is set to 20 minutes. Subscribers who subscribe to the offer and choose one of these default delivery rules receive content updates until they cancel the subscription.
You performed the following steps for creating an offer:
· You entered an offer name and a description
· You specified content components to be included in the offer.
You can change or delete the default delivery rules, and you can define new delivery rules.
For each delivery rule you want to assign to the offer, proceed as follows:
...
1. Select the delivery method (Push, or Pull).
2. Specify the following parameters:
Start Date (the start and stop dates define the time window during which the offer is valid)
End Date
Start Time (time when the content transfer starts)
Length of Update Period (Maximum length of transfer in minutes)
Day of Month
Day of Week
Shortest Download Interval
Longest Download Interval
3. To save your entries, choose OK.
One or more delivery rules are associated with the offer. All necessary specifications for an offer are now made.
