Definition

Parameters that are definitive for the subsequent activities for the user in the consolidation system.

Permanent parameters include the version, the fiscal year and the period. You also can define other permanent parameters.

Defining characteristics as permanent parameters

In customizing of the consolidation area, you define the characteristics that act as permanent parameters:

You can choose whether each permanent parameter is displayed in the screen header.

On the Settings tab page, you can define whether the consolidation area is displayed in the permanent parameters.

Characteristics that are not status relevant are not valid as permanent parameters, for example, financial statement item, subassignment, transaction type.

Use of permanent and temporary parameters

You can use temporary parameters to temporarily override permanent parameters, that is, for the duration of a system transaction.

In the Environment menu, you can change both permanent and temporary parameters.
