Backorder Processing at Schedule Line
Level
Use
You use this function to define if items that are to be involved in batch backorder processing are to be sorted and checked at schedule line level. You can use backorder processing at schedule line level for document categories with many request schedule lines per item (such as scheduling agreements).
Features
Document categories that have many request schedule lines per item usually generate confirmations over a long period of time (such as a year). If backorder processing processes such document categories at item level, all request schedule lines for an item are checked at the same time. In the sort and check at schedule line level, the items are divided up and the schedule lines are processed as items. It is possible to prevent long-term confirmations using sort criteria that are evaluated at schedule line level. For this, characteristics at schedule line level are relevant as sort criteria, such as the following:
● Schedule line number (DELET)
● Material availability date (MAD)
● Confirmed quantity (BMENG)
● Requested quantity (WMENG)
● Delivery date (LFTMS)
Activities
To configure backorder processing at schedule line level, from the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Advanced Planning and Optimization → Global ATP → Environment → Current Settings → Check Level.
Example
The backorder processing worklist contains the following two items for the same product and the same location:

Only these two documents exist in this product-location combination. There are no confirmations, no receipt elements, and no issue elements. The current stock is 11. The base unit of measure is ‘piece’. The sort criterion for backorder processing is the material availability date (ascending).
