Menu: the Drag & Relate Tab
Drag & Relate is a tool based on pre-defined system queries. It is used to create various reports and to display information about business processes quickly and easily. It is an interactive tool that you can use simultaneously with regular working methods. The user-friendly interface helps you find important information quickly and to locate different objects or documents in SAP Business One.
The Drag & Relate queries search for data both in reports and in the master data, such as G/L Accounts and Business Partners. You can filter reports using the Filter Table function.
The Drag & Relate menu is a tab in the SAP Business One Main Menu. To switch from the Modules menu to the Drag & Relate menu, choose the Drag & Relate tab.
To make the most out of the Drag & Relate, you should understand the structure of the tables (files) in SAP Business One. When you run searches in reports, SAP Business One separates between data located in the general data area and in the document rows.
The general data area contains the general data of the document itself, for example Customer Name, Document Date, and so on. This data is located outside the table.
The document rows contain the data found in the table of a document. For example, Item Number, Quantity, and Price.
You cannot drag the Vendor Code to queries which are based on A/R documents. You can drag a vendor code to queries which run on A/P documents only.
If you have dragged an object incorrectly, or there are no matching query records, the error message "No matching records found" is displayed on the status bar.
When the results of a query are a single record, SAPBusiness One opens this record in a separate window rather than as row in a report. For example, if the result of dragging a customer code to the Delivery table is a single record, the SAP Business One opens the Delivery window. If more than one document matches the search criteria, the Drag & Relate window displays a report.
You generate a new report from the Drag & Relate report results. For example, to display a report of all the deliveries to a certain customer, simply drag the required Customer Code to Delivery Details, which automatically opens the required report.
Drag the Document Total to Purchase Order to display a report of all purchase orders which their total amount matches the amount you have dragged.
Drag the Document No. to the A/R Invoice entry to open the corresponding invoice.
