Maintaining Customizing Settings in Archiving Tools 
In the archiving tools to archive data in Payment Engine, you can maintain various customizing settings. These settings are divided into:
Configuration customizing
Configuration customizing is carried out using the Archiving Engine (transaction AR_ENGINE).
Here you can specify the following:
Packet sizes
Residence times
Resubmission period
Archiving phases

Development customizing
Development customizing is carried out using the Archiving Factory ( transaction AR_FACTORY).
Here you can specify the following:
Extension of the available business checks
Addition of new entities
Addition of new archiving classes

The archiving tools provide default customizing settings.
Procedure
Defining Packet Sizes
On the Archiving Engine screen, choose the Addit. Data tab page.
Select Parallel if you want the system to split large payment orders into smaller packages (optional).
Maintain the Maximum Number of packages (each comprising an equal number of payment items).
Maintain the Package Size (the number of payment items per package).
Defining Residence Times
On the Archiving Engine screen, choose the Archiving Scenario.
From the toolbar, choose Definition of Residence Time.
Maintain the residence time for the defined nodes.
