There are various tools provided for efficient configuration with which you can execute the configuration efficiently and quickly.

Procedure

  • Use the process model as a configuration template (model configurator)

If a process model was defined in the Enterprise Services Repository for the process that you want to configure, then you can use this as a template for the configuration. The relevant configuration objects are calculated on the basis of the information saved in the model, as well as additional assignments that you make interactively. Thus, the configuration of more extensive and more processes is made as automated as possible.

This enables you to significantly reduce the time required for configuration.

    End of the recommendation.
  • Configure individual connections (configuration wizard)

You can configure the processing of a message for the individual connection.

In this way you are taken step by step through the various phases of the configuration by a wizard and required to make the related specifications at the relevant points. The configuration process flow is oriented intuitively according to the order of the message processing at runtime. The configuration objects that result from your entries are either created or are modified, depending on whether they already exist or not.

    Note Note

This option is not provided at this time for scenarios where the message is processed on the Advanced Adapter Engine.

  • Use the Integration Directory programming interface

Using the Integration Directory programming interface you can access the content of the Integration Directory using a program and can read, create, or change configuration objects.

This option is intended to be used in scenarios where you want to make mass changes in the Integration Directory which would either not be possible at all, or only with a lot of effort, using the user interface. Furthermore, you can us the programming interface to format the individual contents of the Integration Directory and also to define your own views.

  • Display configuration data clearly (configuration scenario and configuration overview)

You can use a configuration scenario to group configuration objects that are connected together. In addition you can display the objects of a configuration scenario and their relationship to each other in a graphic overview.

    More information: Using Configuration Scenarios

  • Execute integrated configuration

For scenarios of the integrated configuration in which messages are processed by the Adapter Engine, you can clearly specify the complete configuration settings in individual objects. You can quickly execute the configuration for this use case since it is not necessary to define multiple different object (receiver determinations, interface determinations, and communication agreements).

    Caution Caution

This option is currently only available for elementary scenarios for which the message receiver is already defined at the time of configuration and whose message processing only requires a simple mapping (multiplicity 1:1). You can only use integrated configuration to set up scenarios where the message is to be transferred within the same Adapter Engine from a sender to a receiver adapter.

    End of the caution.
  • Test configuration

You can simulate the processing of a message on the basis of existing configuration data.
