Use this procedure to start, stop, and restart SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java (AS Java), individual instances, application server processes, services and deployed applications.
The AS Java is started and controlled by the JSTART program.

1. Start the SAP Management Console (SAP MC).
The SAP MC automatically displays the database and the instances installed on the local host.
More information: Starting the SAP Management Console.

If you need to administer remote systems, you have to register them in the SAP MC.

3. Select the system node and then, from the context menu, choose Start.
4. In the Start SAP system(s) dialog box, choose the preferred options. The system may prompt you for the operating system <SID>adm administrator credentials. To complete the operation, you must have administration permissions.
