Starting and Stopping Systems and Instances with SAP MMC (Windows) 
You can start and stop SAP NetWeaver systems and instance with Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
Start the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) that contains the SAP snap-in.
Choose the system ID of the required system and expand the relevant subtree.
If you want to start or stop the system, choose the system ID, open the context menu with the right mouse button, and select the required entry:

Start |
The database, all instances, and all additional processes of your system are started. If all instance icons appear green, the start was successful. |
Stop |
All you system instances and additional processes are stopped. If all instance icons appear gray, the stop was successful.
The database is not stopped automatically when you stop SAP NetWeaver. Use database-specific tools to stop the database. For more information, see database administration. End of the note. |
If you want to start or stop an instance, choose the instance, open the context menu with the right mouse button, and select the required entry:
