By default, the portal tool area is configured to use the Knowledge Management search. To enable the use of SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search and add it to the Default Framework Page, you need to configure the Tool Area iView.

Procedure

  1. In the portal, choose   Content Administration   Portal Content  . The Portal Content Studio is displayed.

  2. In the Portal Catalog, browse to   Portal Content   Portal Users   Standard Portal Users   Default Framework Page  .

  3. In the context menu of Default Framework Page, choose   Open   Object  .

    The Page Editor displays the list of the navigation views currently configured for the portal page.

  4. In case of portal installation without Knowledge Management (KM), select the Visible checkbox for the Tool Area iView.

    In case of portal installation without KM, the search field is not displayed in the portal header. By selecting the Visible checkbox for the Tool Area iView, you make the search field available in the portal.

    Note Note

    In case of portal installation with KM, the Visible property value is configured by default and no additional configuration is needed.

  5. Select the Tool Area iView , and choose Open.

  6. In the property editor of the Tool Area iView, choose the Show All property category.

  7. For the Switch to Enterprise Search property, select the Yes radio button.

  8. Configure the Enterprise Search Category URL property.

    In the property value field of the Enterprise Search Category URL , replace the HOST:PORT URL section with <host>:<port>, where:

    • <host> is the fully qualified name of the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search system host.

    • <port> is the port, on which the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search system is running.

  9. Choose Save, and then choose Close.
