Use

External repositories are repositories you set up to access resources managed by other systems. You extend the spectrum of CM to include content that is managed externally.

Features

Repository Managers in the Standard Delivery

The following repository managers, needed in order to access external systems, are contained in the standard delivery:

  • File System Repository Manager

Provides read and write access to content stored in a file system.

Repositories of this type can also be used as internal repositories, for storing templates, stylesheets, and other customizing data. The /etc repository is used for this in the KM standard delivery. It contains different types of XSL stylesheets, parameter files, and other configuration files. Various CM services and repository filters need to read data from or write data to these directories.

  • WebDAV Repository Manager

Provides read and write access to content stored on a WebDAV server, for example, on an MS Internet Information Server.
