The entry point repository manager is used system-internally to generate and manager entry-point-specific data provided by entry point providers. For more information, see Entry Point Providers .
Access to entry points takes place via the iView Entry Points or in dialog boxes for copying and moving items. For more information, see Entry Points .
You can also call up entry points from the Go To menu.
The entry point repository manager generates entry points and, if the entry point provider in question supports it, the objects contained therein.
An example of an entry point object is a link to another repository or folder.
The repository manager uses a security manager to carry out permission checks. The number of entry points displayed can therefore vary by user.

Graphics for Entry Points
You can define a graphic for each entry point. This graphic is then displayed instead of the default graphic. The name of the graphics files must be the same as the name of the folder to be used as the entry point. For example, a graphics file of the type gif must have the extension .img.
You want to use the graphics file myIcon.gif as a symbol for an entry point that references the repository /companyshare. Rename the file myIcon.gif as companyshare.img and copy it to the directory /etc/public/mimes/images/entrypoints. Then create a static entry point provider that references the repository /companyshare.
If different entry points reference the same folder and different bundle files exist in parallel, the bundle file to be used is chosen at random.
For more information, see Changing Labels and Symbols for Entry Points .
The entry point repository manager is preconfigured in the standard delivery. No further configuration is necessary.
To call up the configuration of the entry points repository manager, choose Content Management → Repository Managers → Entry Points Repository.
Make sure that all users have read permission for the /entrypoints repository.
