This section describes all enhancements and changes for SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (BW) and SAP Business Explorer (SAP BEx) for Support Package Stack 07.

SAP HANA database as database for SAP NetWeaver BW

BW Workspace Administration

The following functions are new in BW Workspace Administration:

  • You can now prevent Excel files from being uploaded in Workspace Designer.

  • You can now use this setting centrally to make data backups obligatory for local providers of a BW workspace.

  • You can now delete a workspace or alternatively just delete its content.

BW Workspace Designer

Enhanced

The following functions are new in BW Workspace Designer:

  • You can specify a field separator for CSV files. More information: Create Local Providers: File as Source

  • For local providers based on BEx queries, you can create variants directly in Workspace Designer or use variants created in BEx. More information: Create Local Providers: BEx Query as Source

  • When defining CompositeProvidern for connection type Union, you can now define a constant.

  • For standard queries, you can now use existing calculated and restricted key figures.

  • In some cases, you can now select queries that are based on one of the use InfoProviders as referenced queries.

  • There are two new methods for BAdI RSL_WORKSPACE_DESIGNER_BADI. These are AFTER_ACTIVATION_COPR and BEFORE_DELETION_COPR. More information: Enhancement Spot for BW Workspaces

CompositeProvider

There is now a new transaction that allows you to create CompositeProviders - capable of containing both analytic indexes and other InfoProviders - in the BW system outside of Workspace Designer. More information: Creating CompositeProviders

Operations in the BWA/SAP HANA Database

Changed

Calculating the exception aggregation for a single key figure in BWA or on the SAP HANA database is now also possible for conversions before aggregation, but is no longer possible for for quantity conversions. See Operations in BWA.

Analyzing metadata with the metadata repository

By calling a web service, you can view your BW system's metadata in the web browser on any client (see Analyzing Metadata with the Metadata Repository). The method that you use to find the required URL parameters is the same as the one described in Web Services and ICF Services in BW.

OLAP Cache Monitor (RSRCACHE)

Cache mode Query Aggregate replaces cache modes 2–4. Apart from this cachde mode, cache mode Main Memory Cache without Swapping (1) is the only one still of relevance (see Cache Modes). To ensure compatibility however, it is still possible to switch between cache mode Query Aggregate (5) and the previous cache modes (see OLAP Cache Monitor).

You can set cache administration parameters to improvie performance when using the OLAP cache (see Cache Administration Parameters).

Constant Selection

Enhanced

The documentation for the Constant Selection property has been enhanced (see Constant Selection). The SAP DemoContent for Features now has example queries for constant selection (see Constant Selection in Examples).
