BEx Web Integration in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence

Integration of BEx Web applications in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence allows you to access BEx Web applications in the BI launch pad.

The SAP NetWeaver AS for Java stack is not required for this integration. The following restrictions therefore apply:

• Information Broadcasting is not supported.

• As the portal and Knowledge Management are not needed by SAP NetWeaver, document integration and the use of portal motives are not supported in the BEx Web applications.

• The ReportWeb item is not supported.

  Note

  For formatted reporting, we recommend using SAP Crystal Reports.

• To create print versions of BEx Web applications, the Export Library for SAP Business Explorer is used. Adobe Document Services (ADS) are not available.

• The BEx Web applications that are integrated in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence can only contain data sources that are stored in the BW master system. In system administration, you define which system is configured as the BW master system in BusinessObjects Enterprise.

• Single sign-on between SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence and the BW system is not supported. Users of BEx Web Applications are requested to log on to the corresponding BW master system for every BusinessObjects Enterprise session.

• The Report-Report Interface function from and to BEx Web applications is not supported. The corresponding commands are not executed.

• Dashboards created with SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards and which are based on BEx queries/query views are not supported.
