Use

Sponsored links appear in the search results list in a special area above, beside, or below the regular search results. Authors and content managers can determine that certain links are displayed when users search using specific key terms. In this way, they can point users to important documents, portal pages, or other objects.

Example

Possible uses include:

When searching for telephone, the system should also display a link to the instruction manual for the telephone model used in the company.

When searching for vacation, the system should also display a link to a portal page on which the employee can enter a leave request.

Effects on Customizing

By default, this function is inactive. As the administrator, you must perform some initial configuration steps, in order to be able to use the Sponsored Links function. For more information, see Configuration of the Sponsored Links Function.
