Note the following changes and new features in the administration and configuration of Knowledge Management in support package stack 06.

CM Repository Manager (Enhanced)

The parameter Read-only Content Expiry Delay, which is already used for the file system repository manager, is now also available for CM repository managers using the persistence modes DB and DBFS.

You can use it to specify a time interval during which clients are to store the content of write-protected resources. During this time, write-protected resources are not reloaded from the client to the server.

You can use the new Disable Automatic FSDB Synchronization parameter to control the synchronization of CM repositories that are operated in the FSDB persistence mode.

For more information, see CM Repository Managers.

CM Repository FSDB Synchronization Report (New)

If you have switched off the synchronization of CM repositories that are operated in the FSDB persistence mode, you can use the CM Repository FSDB Synchronization report to trigger synchronization manually. The report results list all resources that contain differences between the database and the file system.

For more information, see CM Repository FSDB Synchronization.

PCD Repository Manager (New)

You can use the PCD Repository Manager to display objects in the Portal Content Directory (PCD) in Knowledge Management.

The PCD Repository Manager is used in KM when searching for portal pages and iViews. The objects found using the portalRolesSearch index service in the PCD cache are converted to KM objects and can be displayed in the search results list.

For more information, see PCD Repository Manager and Configuring the Search for Portal Pages and iViews.

Web Repository Manager (Changed)

Parameters that are used to log on to the Web server or for form-based logon have been removed and are now available in the configuration of Web sites.

For reasons of downwards compatibility, the previous Web repository manager remains in the configuration under the [Legacy Web Repository Manager] entry. When you upgrade or migrate your system, you can still use your previous Web repository managers.

If you want to create new Web repositories, you use the new Web repository manager, for which the configuration is simplified.

For more information, see Web Repository Manager and Legacy Web Repository Manager.

HTML Property Extractors (Changed)

The previously used HTML property extractors have been renamed as Web property extractors. In addition to the previous HTML properties, text properties are now also available. Depending on the prerequisites that exist, you can use HTML or text properties to extract property values:

      HTML properties

Can be used if the values to be extracted are between HTML tags

      Text properties

Can be used if the values to be extracted are in text on HTML pages

For more information, see Web Property Extractors.

Entries for Properties (Enhanced)

For predefined properties of the type Date, Time, and Timestamp, you can define your own formats for the date and time.

For more information, see Date and Time Specification for Properties.

For predefined properties of the type User, you can define the current user as the default value. In the definition of the property in the Default Value parameter, you enter the value %user.id%. As a consequence, the system automatically stores the current user as the value for the input field of the property on the user interface.

For more information, see Predefined Properties.

Crawler Service (Enhanced)

Using a new parameter, you can limit the number of crawlers that are running at the same time.

For more information, see Crawler Service.

Crawler Monitor (Enhanced)

The crawler monitor provides the following functions:

You can use the Recrawl Errors function to recrawl documents that caused errors in previous crawling runs.

If you have changed the configuration of resource filters while a crawling process was running, you can suspend the affected crawling task and use the Resume With New Filters function to continue the task using the changed resource filters.

On the overview of the crawling tasks, the following new entries are possible for the Status field:

Stopping: Process has completed its activities and is now stopping.

Stopped: Process has been stopped manually

You can now use the Reactivate function to continue crawling tasks that failed from the point where they previously terminated.

For more information, see Crawler Monitor.

Filtering By Language in the Search Results List (New)

In the configuration of the search options, there are two new parameters for filtering the search results list by documents in a specific language. These are the parameters Enable Language Selection and Default Search Language Selection.

By default, these parameters are deactivated. You must activate them manually. For more information see Search Options.
