Test Tool for XML Forms Builder (New)

A new tool allows you to establish the cause of errors if you have problems launching the XML Forms Builder on your local PC. You can export the test results and send them to the support team for further examination.

For more information, see Environment Check.

HTML Editor (Changed)

Use of the HTML editor has been simplified. The following changes have been implemented:

You can change the editor width.

The function bar comprises a single row instead of two rows.

The selectable styles are read from the CSS stylesheet for the portal, which contributes to a uniform appearance.

You can define the target window for links. For example, you can specify whether the target object appears in the same window or whether the system should open a new browser window.

In the HTML editor, you can apply settings, for example, the text alignment or the background color, not only to the entire table or to individual cells, but also to a column or a row.

For more information, see HTML Editor.

Export and Import of Taxonomies (New)

You can export a taxonomy from your system to an XML file, or you can import a taxonomy into your system from an XML file. You use this function to add taxonomies from one SAP Enterprise Portal to another portal. You can also import taxonomies from other systems as long as the XML file is valid as defined by the document type definition (DTD) for taxonomies that is delivered by SAP.

For more information, see Export and Import of Taxonomies.

Update Log in the Taxonomy Query Builder (New)

In the new release, you can display the status of currently running updates and the most recent updates in the Taxonomy Query Builder.

For more information, see Update Log.

Permissions Report (New)

This report displays which permissions users have for objects in KM repositories. You can create a list of all folders in a repository with their respective permissions.

For more information, see ACL Permissions.

Metadata (Changed)

To date, configuration of properties, property structures, resource types, and MIME types was only possible with the system administratorrole. In the new release, configuration of these objects is also possible with the content manager role.

For more information, see Initial Content for Content Managers.

Layout Examples (New)

The Content Management workset contains new iViews with configuration examples for the KM user interface:

AlignmentExplorer: In this layout set, the elements to be displayed are rendered in an invisible HTML table. This causes the elements to be aligned in rows and columns.

The technical name of this layout set is AlignmentExplorer.

Two Column Search Result: This layout set is an application example for the alignment renderer. It shows how you can display the search results in more than one column.

The technical name of this layout set is AlignmentSearchResult.

In the assigned collection renderer settings, you must check the parameters Number of Columns and Column Ordering Mode.

Tab Explorer: In this layout set, the subfolders of a folder are displayed as tab pages.

The technical name of this layout set is TabExplorer.

You must note that in the configuration of this layout set, two collection renderer settings and resource renderer settings respectively are used.

For more information, see Layout Sets in the KM administration guide.

Using the Clipboard to Cut, Copy, and Paste (New)

The delivery contains the new user interface commands, Cut, Copy, and Paste. You can use these commands to place an object in a KM folder on a clipboard and paste it from there to another KM folder. The source folder and target folder can be located in different iViews in the portal.

This presents an alternative to the commands Copy … and Move…, with which you use a dialog box to navigate to the target folder.

For more information, see File Operations in KM Folders.

User Query When Uploading Documents (New)

When you upload a document to a KM folder, the system previously only checked whether an item with the same ID already exists in the target folder. In the new release, the system also checks whether there is an object with the same name. If this is the case, a dialog box opens, and you can choose one of the following options:

      Overwrite the existing document

Upload your document as a new document

An entry field appears, in which you can change the name of the new document.

You can also decide to upload another document with the same name. In any case, the system makes sure that each object in the folder has a unique ID.

For more information, see Names and IDs of Objects in KM Folders.

Uploading Large Numbers of Documents with the same Properties (New)

When you upload documents in the KM Navigation iView, you can enter property values for each document.

In the new release, it has become easier to upload a large number of documents with the same property values to a folder. In the Upload dialog box, there is a new Remember property settings for next upload checkbox. If you activate this checkbox, you have to set the properties once only and can then upload any number of documents with the same property values.

For more information, see Creating and Changing Documents.
