Use

Time-dependent hierarchies can be analyzed temporally in a query.

The previous function enabled you to analyze a time-dependent overall hierarchy in reporting according to a key date that was defined in the query definition. A hierarchy with a time-dependent hierarchy structure could be built for the current date or for the key date set in the query.

The new function guarantees another view of the historical data. In this case, the leaves are added to the node to which they belonged when the data record was derived.

For this function, a key date is determined from a data record. According to this key date, the leaves are sorted into the corresponding place in the hierarchy. The rule that is used to determine the key date is called "key date derivation type". The key date derivation type can be edited in a separate transaction. The rule determines from which time characteristic and in which way the key date is determined (such as the first day of the month).
